PSK Ayur Traditional Black Kavuni Rice 1kg is a distinctive heritage-style rice associated with Tamil cuisine. Known as Kavuni Arisi in Tamil Nadu, the grain has a naturally dark black-purple colour that becomes deeper and more purple as it cooks.

A Unique Traditional Tamil Rice

Black Kavuni has a pleasantly chewy texture and mild nutty flavour that sets it apart from everyday white rice. It is particularly famous in Tamil cooking for Kavuni Arisi, a traditional sweet preparation in which the cooked rice is combined with ingredients such as coconut and sweetener.

Ideal for:

• Kavuni Arisi sweet
• Traditional rice desserts
• Sweet pongal-style preparations
• Rice bowls
• Simple steamed rice
• Exploring traditional Tamil recipes

Rich Colour and Distinctive Character

Its naturally dark appearance makes Black Kavuni one of the most recognisable traditional rice varieties. The 1kg pack is a convenient size for households wanting to prepare traditional recipes or experiment with this unique grain.
