Product Details

PSK Ayur Seeraga Samba Rice 5kg is a traditional South Indian aromatic rice recognised by its distinctive small, slender grains. The name “Seeraga” comes from the grain’s resemblance to cumin seeds, known as seeragam in Tamil, and the variety is especially prized for its fragrance and use in Tamil-style biryani.

The Traditional Rice for South Indian Biryani

Unlike the extra-long grains of basmati, Seeraga Samba has a much smaller grain that absorbs the flavour of spices, stock and masala exceptionally well. This makes it particularly suited to biryanis where the rice and seasoning are meant to come together closely.

Ideal for:

• Dindigul biryani
• Ambur-style biryani
• Chicken biryani
• Mutton biryani
• Vegetable biryani
• Pulao
• Kuska rice
• Traditional Tamil rice dishes

Small Grain, Distinctive Aroma

Seeraga Samba offers a completely different biryani experience from basmati. Its characteristic fragrance, compact grain and ability to take on the flavour of the masala make it a favourite for authentic South Indian biryani preparation.
